I can't wait to meet you soon! Let me tell you a little about myself.
I married my high school sweetheart and we have two children: Jace, 2, and Luke, 6 months. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Texas Teacher Certification in Early Childhood through 12th Grade Music. I've been a musician all my life, and a teacher for 6 years in early childhood, elementary, and middle schools. I've also taught children in my church since 2016. When I'm not teaching, my family and I enjoy playing at local playgrounds, visiting the library, making music, and just hanging out together.
This is my 3rd year teaching preschool, and I absolutely love everything about it! My favorite part is seeing my students' eyes light up when they grasp a new concept. It's so magical! I truly feel that teaching is my calling in life, and I can't wait to teach your little one. I can't wait to meet you!

Music Time Preschool is "Pre-K the Music Way!" Our preschool classes help your child to make friends, socialize, and become more than ready for Kindergarten. We focus on a "whole child" philosophy, developing your child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills through MUSIC & PLAY.
(Little do they know they are actually learning really important Kindergarten readiness skills WHILE they play - shhh! don't tell them!) We can’t wait for your child to join our preschool class!

15 min. – Welcome, Table Time
We are so excited for everyone to arrive! We get right to working on fine motor skills with fun arts and crafts.
15 min. – Circle Time
We gather together at the music rug to work on our cognitive, social, language, and gross motor skills with our sharing time, calendar, weather, and job helpers.
30 min. – Music Time
This is where the magic happens! We review songs we've learned, learn new songs, play instruments, and practice musical concepts like steady beat, tuneful singing, aural skills, tempo, dynamics, style, and timbre. We also use props such as puppets, parachutes, scarves, and bean bags to help make sense of the more abstract musical concepts. While it may sound like serious learning (it is!), we make it silly, engaging, and fun.
40 min. – Center Time
Often known as “Free Play” or “Play Time,” our many centers include Dramatic Play, Sensory, Art, Building, Literacy, Writing, and Science. We work on social, emotional, and language skills such as using our words, taking turns, being patient, negotiating conflicts, etc. In addition, our teacher brings over small groups or works 1-on-1 with building cognitive skills (colors, shapes, letters, sounds, numbers, counting, math/reading for older kids) based on each child’s level.
20 min. – Recess
Our playground areas include play structures, swings, slides, sand boxes, balls, sports, scooters, and more! You’ll think we’re just playing, but we’re actually working on our social, emotional, language, and gross motor skills as we run, jump, climb, swing, and create games.
15 min. – Snack Time
We love working on our cognitive, social, language, and fine motor skills as we pour, measure, sort, count, chat, and enjoy eating together.
15 min. – Closing Circle
We head back to the circle rug to work on our cognitive skills with story time and Handwriting Without Tears curriculum, social and language skills with discussing what we’ve learned, and emotional skills with getting ready to go home.

At Music Time Preschool, we follow a “whole child” philosophy where we partner with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for kindergarten! In fact, kindergarten teachers LOVE our students so much because they're such great learners!
Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals.
We also incorporate Creative Curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum, Preschool System FUNdamentals Curriculum, and Jo Kirk's Lullabies to Circle Games music curriculum.
We aim to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners by actively exploring their environment.
In fact, one of the best ways we can teach is to ask THEM questions. "What are you creating?" "How does it work?" "Tell me about what you drew." etc.
We keep you in the loop on what we're working on, and we also let you know exactly how your child is doing during our two parent teacher conferences each year.
Children learn SO MUCH MORE when they have the chance to explore and play without rules of what art "should" look like at the end.
We change out our centers and materials to reflect the new theme. Our classroom is always changing, and you never know what exciting things we'll add next week!

When you're at Music Time Preschool, you're family! We're conveniently located in Country Club Estates. You'll love our warm, bright in-home preschool, and your child will love our 1-on-1 attention with our small class sizes of just 4 students!
We are strictly a preschool (not a daycare) for children ages 3-5 (and independent almost 3-year-olds). We offer MORE THAN just preschool... Not only do we help your child socialize, get ready for kindergarten, and build their musicianship, we also offer free field trips & events for your entire family so we can experience the magic of preschool... TOGETHER.

Due to high demand, our classes fill up ridiculously fast. Please call as soon as you even think about enrolling so we can see if we have a spot for you.
If we do have a spot, we'll schedule a tour. We'll also reserve your child's spot so you don't lose it before we meet.
During the tour, we'll tell you all about us. At the end, we'll ask: "Would you like your child to come to Music Time Preschool?" If so, that's when we'll have you fill out the registration form and we'll collect the registration fee ($75).
